System overview

Indeed ID system carries the Identity and Access Management (IAM) class. The system allows to provide the centralized account management and access to the information resources of the company. Per se Indeed Id plays the role of mediator for the following access operations:

Users access all information resources through Indeed-Id and get authenticated using the universal technology, which includes smart card reading, fingerprint scanning, one-time passwords, USB-tokens and more.

IT administrators are able to manage user data, create user accounts and regulate the access to IT resources.

The security service is given a suite of tools to fine-tune access privileges, to monitor and track incidents in the system.

The employees of the company access their desktop, software, and file folders through a Single Sign-On (SSO) procedure using nearly 20 strong and practically effective authentication methods supported by Indeed ID system such as biometric authentication or smart card/one-time password authentication.

Thereby the employee has not need to remember logins and passwords anymore.

— statistics of violations at the moment

How does it work?

Indeed-Id system consists of client and server components. The server provides the centralized management of user accounts and authenticators. Indeed-Id client solution is to be installed on each user workstation. Once it is installed, the component of client’s system (agent) captures all the attempts to access resources prompting the user to get authenticated. Having completed the authentication successfully the user gets the access, the agent transfers user's login and password to the required destination.

Among the ways of login and password transfer is the automatic completion of the requested fields and forms of the application dialogue. Such a solution allows to using Indeed Id to access any kind of application.

Supported Authentication Tools

Indeed Id IAM allows abandoning the password systems endowed with lots of shortcomings. A variety of authentication tools can be used instead of passwords.

One-time Password

is the easiest option requiring no additional hardware devices use. The employee gets the unique, each time different password with every attempt to log in. For example, having a special picture with characters on the screen and knowing the certain algorithm, the user can use it to generate one time password. Displayable characters are changing with every login to the system however the algorithm of password generation remains the same. One time password is impossible to intercept though the method of generation is simple enough to remember.

Smart Card

is the authentication method that requires a card reader connected to the employee’s workstation. The user puts the card on to the reader in order to log in. The system can be set up to lock the workstation once the card was removed from a card reader. It is important to note that Indeed Id can adapt smart card passes to grant the access for all the information resources needed.

Fingerprint

is the authentication method that is useless without a fingerprint scanner. The employee puts one of the fingers to a scanner in order to log in. Fingerprint scanners are more expensive but secure than card readers due to the fact that fingerprints cannot be lost, left at home or passed to somebody else like a card.

Multifactor Authentication

is the method with the simultaneous use of several types of authentication at the same time. For example, a user needs to put the card on to the reader and then enter the password to log in. Indeed-Id IAM allows choosing and setting up various combinations of authentication methods for different information resources in accordance with possible risk factors.
